Guest Scott Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 We are using Windows Standard server 2003. Can someone advise me how to schedule the server to automatically re-boot itself in order to clear up any blocking after the use for some time. Thanks, Scott

To schedule an automatic reboot have a look at the command line utility "shutdown.exe" included with 2003. You can use this in a scheduled task to schedule a shutdown/reboot etc. Andy.

What happens when the server reboots on July 4th and the it doesn't come back up? I can tell you from bitter experience that it *CAN* happen.. :-( Scott really needs to identify what is causing the problem and resolve it. Quick & easy workarounds like this will eventually cause him problems.... -- Regards, Hank Arnold Microsoft MVP Windows Server - Directory Services
