preachermuaddib Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 Hi guys, hope you can help me. My dvd drive suddenly stopped burning DVDS/CDs and when playing it would stutter badly. Thinking the drive was toast, I bought a brand new drive but the same problem persists. I've run full spyware/virus programs and defragged the drive. The computer is clean and the cables are secure and I've run this script DMA reverts to PIO | Windows Problem Solver but nothing so far has made any difference. I've also tried changing the SATA cable and changed the SATA slot I don't know if it makes any difference but in my bios BIOS, under main I have the following Primary and secondary master/slave all set to none, and in their sub menu PIO mode, UDMA mode, Primary IDE master and access mode are set to auto Under SATA 3 (where the DVD drive is located) has Ex. IDE drive and access mode set to auto (where choices are auto or none) And HDD smart monitoring is disabled Can anyone suggest a solution? ANY help appreciated
Jelly Bean Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 Hello and welcome to the forum. I have just been reading your thread on your drive issues. As I work on a few computer forums I came across your name several times with the exact same issue copied and pasted elsewere. I first noted you were already receiving help:C/Net Posted here:PCHForum Posted here:CDFreaks I could possibly spend my time finding a few more forums you posted the issue on. Now looking through your postings and your specifications and information on these other forums I noted you have XP Black installed. I noted one forum even locked your thread. It was also noted when you first joined this forum you stated XP Black as your operating System but then changed it. It also appears you are fully aware of most forum rules which state about illegal activities such as hacks and cracks. Rules. XP Black is not a legal OS and would not of been given to a company via Microsoft. I therefore have no choice but to lock your thread and no help can be given at this time. If you in the future install a fully legal OS and return to the forum and require help we would be very pleased to help you,but alas untill such time we are unable to help at this time as it breaks forum rules.
