Jelly Bean Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 Hello paparay and welcome. Strange enough I had to deal with this sort of issue a few weeks ago on a neigbour Raymonds PC. I think you have the same issue, the tool bar along the top is black and you cannot see what to click? I had to hover over the tool bar and click tools.internet options/delete history, cookies and temp files. Can you try that? Also in internet options there is listed appearance you can try and change the colours there. However this failed on my neigbours computer. You could try add and remove and uninstall IE8 and see if reverting back to IE 7 solves the problem or after an uninstall try a reinstall.I didnt have time to try this on my neigbour Raymonds PC. This one stumped me and I didnt fix it others may have an idea of what the issue is. Quote Rwy'n ceisio fy ngorau......................
Tootech Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 Make sure all your toolbars are removed. To do that, go to Add/Remove and uninstall all of them. Reboot and see how it looks. Still having problems? Go back to IE7. Sometimes IE8 just doesn't work well on XP. If IE8 doesn't show in Add/Remove, do it this way... Alternative steps for Windows XP or for Windows Server 2003 To uninstall Internet Explorer 8, follow these steps: Carefully select and then copy the following command: %windir%\ie8\spuninst\spuninst.exe Click Start, and then click Run In the Open box, type Cmd.exe, and then press ENTER Right-click inside the Cmd.exe window, and then click Paste to paste the command that you copied in step 1. Press ENTER to uninstall Internet Explorer 8. When the uninstall program is finished, restart your computer. Quote
