internet access

Hi there,

 

something strange is going on with my internet

 

for some reason it wont let me access some sites at all & then on some it wont let me access a page in the site.

Any ideas please

The problem has seemed to occur whilst i was on Holiday for 2 weeks & i havent added anything recently either

Who is your internet providor? Virgin Media ( I am in the UK)

 

How do you connect? Dialup, high speed, wireless? - Wireless

 

What antivirus do you have? - Avira Anti-virus

 

What firewall are you using? - Zonealarm

 

What if any meessage do you get when a page won't display? - The message is the same, which is "Internet Explorer cannot display this Web Page", it then asks if i want to diagnose my connection & when i do it says theres no problem

Hi,

 

I think your wireless may be dropping the connection, or having intermittent connection issues. If you hover your mouse over the network icon in the bottom-right corner of the screen, what strength does it say the signal is, and what speed (54Mbps etc) does it say?

My speed is 11.0 mbps, signal strength is good & i am connected

 

any other ideas?

11Mbps seems slow:

 

What make and model of router are you using?

 

What make and model of wireless reciver are you using on the computer?

 

Can you try plugging a cable directly into the router for a while, to see if the problem goes away?
