ehd135 Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 After turning my laptop on last week, I had a message saying C drive was corrupt, so I ran a system recovery. By doing this, I lost everything. All my documents but more importantly my pictures. Now when using my laptop, I keep getting a message saying I'm low on dick space, when I don't have any programmes or documents stored on the computer. I've done a dick cleanup to try and use my laptop, but now I'm worried that there's no chance in recovering my lost files.... What do I do with the low disk space problem and is there any way of recovering my lost files? any help at all would be really appreciated :) Quote
RandyL Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 Hi ehd. If you did a FULL recovery back to factory condition AND you did a disk cleanup your chance of recovering your files are near impossible. In addition every time you have used your computer decreases that chance. Specialists may be able to recover a few but the price will be extremely high. If your C drive was already corrupt the chance is even less. If you were also low on disk space after the reinstall I'm surprised that you were able to reinstall considering that and the corrupt message prior. I may be wrong but your drive may be faulty and all data lost. Perhaps you can provide additional details. Quote We are all members helping other members. DSTM Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 Hi ehd. As Randy says, there's all possibility that your Documents are most likely lost, or overwritten,by now. I would suggest you try a brilliant recovery program. called "Recuva" It's free, easy to use, and well worth trying. It's worked for me on a number of occassions. It's very quick and may surprise you what it does find. Here is the Download link.:) Recuva - Undelete, Unerase, File Recovery - Download Quote Confidence, is the feeling I get, moments before I stuff something up.
RandyL Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 I agree with DSTM. It's worth a try and you have little to lose at this point. He's right. It is a good program.
