After setting everything up as to what I was told on gmail's web sites and after successfully sending mail from 'Windows Mail' I got a message saying: Account: 'POP3', Server: 'pop.gmail.com', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR not supported 3pf300400pzk.24', Port: 995, Secure(SSL): Yes, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC18

"check for new messages on 'POP3'" failed in 'Windows Mail' but I've received replys in my 'Windows Live Mail' account and it has recieved all previous messages.

It seems redundant to me that my computer has to versions of 'outlooks' at all but I dont understand their inter-relations... If there isnt any perhaps I can just uninstall 'Windows Mail'?

Hi starla.

Check all your settings in Windows mail and also make sure your Gmail is configured for POP3.

You should also check to see if any security software is interfering with it.

That's good news starla. I'm glad it's working right now. Thanks so much for letting us know it's fixed and what worked.

I'm not sure what you mean there. I won't purport to know your Norton program or why you think it's Norton. I'm not a fan.

I'm not convinced it is a Norton issue. It might be a previous Gmail configuration and the messages just might not be there.

Is this an issue or are you satisfied?
