Guest Joe Quigley Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 Hello, The Spooler service on my Windows 2003 SP2 server is using 1.6GB (yes, GB) of memory. I can not figure out why the service is using so much memory. There are 14 network printers in use on the server. There are no jobs stuck in any of the queues. Restarting the service reclaims the memory but it will go back to using that much over time. There was a memory leak in SP1 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/927744/en-us) but that was supposed to be fixed in SP2. I have checked the version of spoolsv.dll as specified the KB article. I have 5.2.3790.3959 which is later then version referenced in the article. Is anyone else seeing this kind of memory usage?? Does anyone have a suggestion how to make the spooler service not use so much memory?? Thanks in advance for any suggestions. Joe

Set to default 0 or high priority 1? - Thee Chicago Wolf

I also saw that someone who had an incompatible BIOS on the print server fix his problem once they updated it. - Thee Chicago Wolf
