Guest Alessandro Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 Hello. I am looking for a way to manage the Shadow Copy client by group policies. For example, I'd like to disable (on XP clients) the 'Restore' button, leaving only 'Open' and 'Copy'. Because I don't want that a distract user overwrite a file with an older version. I have looked for similar options in the group policy but I haven't found them. Could someone help me please? Thank you. Alessandro

Note that group policy questions are best posted in microsoft.public.windows.group_policy (however, this isn't necessarily a GP issue) > For example, I'd like to disable (on XP clients) the > 'Restore' button, leaving only 'Open' and 'Copy'. > Because I don't want that a distract user overwrite a file with an > older version. > I have looked for similar options in the group policy but I haven't > found them. > Could someone help me please? > Thank you. > > Alessandro Check out the following: "Update to disable Volume Shadow Copy Service restore options on Terminal Server client computers that are running Windows Server 2003 or Windows XP" http://support.microsoft.com/kb/888603
