Hi, all

 

Hope you can help,i have a new biuld computer about 2 months old now,no problem running it 14 hours+ steady as a rock,but every so often when i turn my computer on from cold it gets to micosoft bar then shuts down to black screen then asks for windows to start normal,when i do this it works fine i can shut down boot up 2 to 3 times a day longest run no problems for 11 days then all of a sudden one day boots up same problem then may run for days again no problem.

 

I have the following,

 

Antec 900 gaming case,

i7 950 cpu,

12Gb ram ddr3

700w power supply

asus rampage extream II

Nivida 9500GT graf card

2x 1TB segate hard drives.

 

P.S I do not overclock as yet

 

Please help as it is doing my bonce in.

 

I have checked by unpluging all mouse keyboard printers ect,

check devise manager no problems there

Done a memorie check no problems there.

What events has a red cross by it?

Click on Event Viewer and then System

 

What events has a red cross by it?

 

 

I'm running vista 64 bit, in events viewer i can only find event filter query functionality report,no red crosses.

Was this straight after the problem occurred that you only got that message? it is straight after the problem that we need to know what shows up in that list.

As the problem only happens every few days,i will have to wait untill it does it again,then i will check events viewer yes ?and where should i be looking in events viewer?

When it does happen again, open the one marked "System", any events with a red cross and error, a double click on it should open a box with a description of the error, if you can post all of that please.
