Hi there everybody

I'm interested in picking up a 'PNY GeForce 9800GT 512MB PCI-E Graphics Card'

Buy the PNY GeForce 9800GT 512MB PCI-E Graphics Card Online at PC World.

but before I buy it I want to make sure that it would work with my computer, but I'm not sure how to tell if its compatible or not, and if it's not is it possible to make it work?

To help you i will put all the information i know about my computer but if you need something else could you leave instructions how to get them because im not that good with computers.

Operating System - Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit

System Manufacturer - PACKARD BELL BV

System Model - ISTART 2369

Processor - Intel® Pentium® 4 CPU 3.06GHz (2CPUs), ~3.1GHz

Memory - 1024MB RAM (I will buying 2x2GB Ram so this will be 4GB RAM not 1GB)

DirectX Version - DirectX 11

Also if this doesnt work with my computer can you give me something that would, which would run all the big games like GTA IV, Crysis, APB, AION which would allow me to play with high settings. (Doesnt matter about money much, but not something silly like £400 :))

ALSO i know its alot to ask sorry but i was thinking about getting a 360-500gb hard drive to change with my 80gb but not sure what would work if you could leave a link of a fast-Cheap one from pc world as i can only buy in shop and NOT Online

Thank you!

Hi Philduck and welcome to Extreme Tech Support - Free PC Help,

I have to ask, if not possible to buy on line, is there no other computer parts and spares dealers in your area? A smaller and local company may have staff with the experience to offer advice face to face.

However, Graphics is not my area so will leave that for one of our more graphics oriented members.

Next is the RAM you are looking at and the operating system, Windows 7 should be able to run with the amount you are thinking of, but Windows 7 has not yet been released, so what is the computer running on now?

There is one shop that is near who i have been to see and he said it would but i felt like he didnt really know and was just taking a stab at it, so after awhile searching on the internet and not finding anything i thought i would get some people who could give me a 100% yes or not answer :)

Sorry it is Windows 7 Ulimate but it is the beta version

"Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit (6.1, Build 7100)"
