Wyrdskein Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 Hi. I wonder if anyone can help? I have been trying to make a WMA track (repeated several times over) into a single, much longer one, by using free joining software, but with little success. I want to join the tracks so there is no pause or jump between them. It is a track for sleeping to, so needs to be seamless. Can anyone help? Quote
Plastic Nev Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 Hi Wyrdskein, Which programs have you tried? is Audacity one of them? If not try it. Once your Audio is loaded, (you may have to convert it to a WAV or MP3 file) The audio tracks are shown as the full waveform, with the blank bits between, you just edit out the blank parts. If a click is heard, try again and edit out perhaps a half second from the end of one, and the start of the next. You can also fade out one and fade in the other as well if you wish, then drag the track into the preceding one so one fades into the other. Audacity can be downloaded from here- Audacity: Free Audio Editor and Recorder I hope that will help, Nev. Quote Need help with your computer problems? Then why not join Free PC Help. Register here. Wyrdskein Posted October 4, 2009 Author Posted October 4, 2009 ... Thanks Yes I have tried Audacity, but couldn't figure out how to load all the tracks into the one window so that I could combine them. I need to do about 15 in a row. Do you know if there is an Audacity manual? I will give it another go. Quote
Plastic Nev Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 If you click the help button at the top, then contents, you will get a quite comprehensive set of instructions. Re your need to add track after track, as far as I can see there is no limit. However as I only use it for one project at a time, and not that often, I could be wrong. all I can say is try it. If it is a case of having to play each track one at a time, you should be able to stop Audacity recording at the end of the first, then restart recording once the next track starts. You can edit out the gaps afterwards. Nev. Quote Need help with your computer problems? Then why not join Free PC Help. Register here. If Free PC Help has helped you then please consider a donation.
