Download CCleaner, http://www.ccleaner.com, and use the Issues feature after

uninstalling Spybot. Make sure you nuke the Spybot folder in Program

Files. THEN reinstall Spybot.

That's been my feeling from the gitgo Joan as I have never heard of kernall32.dll while

kernel32.dll is the Windows Core Kernel of the Win32 OS.

Please submit a sample of kernall32.dll to Virus Total --

http://www.virustotal.com/flash/index_en.html

The submission will then be tested against many different AV vendor's scanners.

That will give you an idea what it is and who recognizes it. In addition, unless told

otherwise, Virus Total will provide the sample to all participating vendors.

You can also submit a suspect, one at a time, via the following email URL...

mailto:scan@virustotal.com?subject=SCAN

When you get the report, please post back the exact results.

The correct version would be 1.5.1.17, it doesn't present a problem on my

pc.

As a matter of fact I like it better than the previous version.

There was a trick to installing it though, but don't remember the details.

Someone in this group suggested it, if I'm not mistaken.

Your error message may have had something to do with your spybot

installation and could have been a fluke, but treating it in accordance with

Dave's instructions is advisable.

I thought you might say that, nellie and I will do anything to recall what

it was and let you know as soon as I come up with it and, hopefully, not

Wasn't aware of that, Dave. What's the difference between the two?

And would an upgrade on my part be prudent?

My current version works mighty fine.

I seem to recall there were some who had problems with these updated

versions.

That's the beta version, Dave, as I just discovered.

I had tried and abandoned it.

That makes us even, I suppose <g>.

I downloaded what I was informed to be the latest version based upon high CPU utilization

and extreme software loading latency experienced on; Win2K, WinXP and Vista.

If you are working OK, I doubt the slight version difference would be needed in your case.

Nellie, I just checked and I am using the 1.4.0.3 version.....on an XP

machine. Works just fine for me and to be honest, didn't know there was

an updated one, grin.

Especially with WinME, older version of programs seem to work better.

There is a website you should check out for the older stuff. I used it

when I had WinME. It is http://www.oldversion.com

Good luck.....Heather (and I am NOT updating Spybot.....it's working

just fine.....grin)

Dave,

Version 1.5.2 was released on January 29th. This isn't a beta release.

I don't know if there are any additional tweaks from the 1.5.19 version.

Strange things happened to me when I downloaded and installed this version:

I got some kind of typecast error, when I tried to download the updates and

quickly reinstalled my former version, but when I updated that one, I wound

up with version 1.5.2.20 and everything is working properly. Now I'm

up-to-date, thanks to you, Alias and according to Dave we can look forward

to a newer version. Only one more thing: my older version had more

immunizations than this one, how come?

Thanks,

Harry.
