Guest nellie Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 can't get help from the people at spybot so i was wondering if this newsgroup could help me sorry if i shouldn't be posting this here but i didn't know where to look or who to ask and since my operating system is windows me i thought what the heck spybot works fine until the end i check all boxes i click fix selected problems message reads spybotsd has caused an error in kernall.dll program closes did a complete uninstall and reinstall same problem did a system restore same problem can someone please help me thank you nellie

As a matter of fact I like it better than the previous version. There was a trick to installing it though, but don't remember the details. Someone in this group suggested it, if I'm not mistaken. Your error message may have had something to do with your spybot installation and could have been a fluke, but treating it in accordance with Dave's instructions is advisable. I downloaded what I was informed to be the latest version based upon high CPU utilization and extreme software loading latency experienced on; Win2K, WinXP and Vista. Works just fine for me and to be honest, didn't know there was an updated one, grin. Especially with WinME, older version of programs seem to work better. There is a website you should check out for the older stuff. I used it when I had WinME. Strange things happened to me when I downloaded and installed this version: I got some kind of typecast error, when I tried to download the updates and quickly reinstalled my former version, but when I updated that one, I wound up with version 1.5.2.20 and everything is working properly. Now I'm up-to-date, thanks to you, Alias and according to Dave we can look forward to a newer version. Only one more thing: my older version had more immunizations than this one, how come?
