Hi,

I recently had a hard disk failure. I've had a replacement installed and XP and Drivers set up for me.

I now find that the system is running significantly slower than it used to - symptoms include:

Significantly longer boot time

Programs taking a long time to load

If playing iTunes a track will stutter/skip when a program is loading

Does anyone have any ideas for causes / solutions?

Cheers,

Rob

hi rob

how did they re-install do you know....

they may have done a factory restore, this usually reloads all the bloated settings.

run msconfig and remove what you dont need loaded from the start up tab...this will not remove the programme just, stop them from loading there settings at startup).

defrag etc may help

give them a go
