Guest Amagicdrag0n Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 We are in a DHCP environment with static IP addresses allocated to printers. Numerous printers (different makes and models) are reverting back to a DHCP addresses without any manual intervention. Does anyone have any ideas of what could be causing this?” Thanks Dave

When you go into the printer's management on the device itself and provide a static configuration, and restart it, does it go back to DHCP again? -- Regards, Ace This posting is provided "AS-IS" with no warranties or guarantees and confers no rights. Guest Amagicdrag0n Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 Re: DHCP Problems Hi Ace No. This this happens intermitently on different printers (it has only happened more than once on one printer). would a power surge cause this? regards Dave "Ace Fekay [MVP]" wrote: > Power surge? > > When you go into the printer's management on the device itself and provide a > static configuration, and restart it, does it go back to DHCP again? > > -- > Regards, > Ace > > This posting is provided "AS-IS" with no warranties or guarantees and > confers no rights. > > Ace Fekay, MCSE 2003 & 2000, MCSA 2003 & 2000, MCSE+I, MCT, > MVP Microsoft MVP - Directory Services > Microsoft Certified Trainer > > Infinite Diversities in Infinite Combinations > > >

I actually haven't heard of a printer going back to DHCP unless the thing got reset, such as what a surge may do. Ace
