I love Acronis' new server products, but I don't use them as a nightly backup solution on my servers. I use them as a supplementary backup. You've already got NTBackup built into Windows, which will back up your data/system state/Exchange databases - you can set up SQL to back itself up to file (so you can include that in your file-level backup). Don't know about Oracle. If you aren't fond of batch files to run your backup job with the parameters you wish, there's a nice little GUI for NTBackup here: http://www.backupassist.com Or look at Symantec (nee Veritas) BackupExec, etc.
Guest 2Sweet Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 Re: Backup Solution Any reason why you used Acronis as supplementary backup? Do you recommend to use Acronis as a main full & incremental backup solution? No- I do full backups nightly and don't want incrementals in a disaster. And a full image backup of a server takes a long time. Your mileage may vary - many people use Acronis (or StorageCraft, etc) for this. > > > "Lanwench [MVP - Exchange]" > <lanwench@heybuddy.donotsendme.unsolicitedmailatyahoo.com> wrote in > message news:%238bOYbzZIHA.5348@TK2MSFTNGP03.phx.gbl... >> 2Sweet <cmchong20@yahoo.com> wrote: >>> I am looking for backup solution for Windows 2003 file server, MS >>> SQL, Oracle, Domain Controller, MS Exchange Server etc.?
