saybl Posted August 15, 2007 Posted August 15, 2007 late last night i was using the system restore function but i was very tired, i then shut down the comp from the button on the back of the tower. This morning i woke up expecting to just use the "restart from last known working settings" option, but all of a sudden when i get to that black screen with the options my key board and mouse shut down and wont work. I tried emergency boot disks, etc., and each and every time my keyboard and mouse shut off right after the COMPAQ (red and bold) screen ends. if only i could get the key board to work then everything would be fine. please help me someone. saybl Posted August 16, 2007 Author Posted August 16, 2007 i used two different keyboards, they are usb. Cant get into anything as far as i can tell comp turns on, goes to a black screen saying that it couldnt boot and gives option like use safe mode, last know working, start regularly, etc. the mouse and keyboard turn on at first and i can turn on # lock and such but when it gets to the black screen where i need to use the arrow keys to move the highlite, the board just stops working, as does the mouse =/ if this continues idk if even a repair center could fix it.... danzil Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 ok try this... when you get to that menu, remove the usb keyboard from the pc for 10 seconds then plug it back in qiat ten secs then try again.... does the keyboard work at startup can you get into the bios..... you need to allow usb keyboard and mouse in the bios..... does it do the same with a ps/2 mouse n keyboard. try a normal keyboard.or get a usb to ps/2 converter from maplin or pc world no more then a fiver.that should do the trick regards danzil Quote Windows 10 Pro x64Aqua Jeantech Gaming case550watt psu.MSI Gaming Board32GB DDR3 Corsair gaming RamGenuine Intel i7 3.2Ghz4 x 24x dvdrw 150GB SSD750GB Hybrid Drive256 RAID PCI/E SSD for OSand loads of other bits i really dont need :D
