Application Error - The exception unknown software exception

OS: Windows 2003 SP2 x64 w/Terminal Services installed. Mode: Application

Service:

I installed our Accounting Client package - Sage MIP on the TS, but i cannot

run the client without getting the Execption error. I've looked on the

internet, but can't seem to find a solution. I've called the vendor, no luck

there.

Does this happen for all users when running the program in a TS

session, both normal users and administrators?

Does it also happen when you run the appliation on the console of the

server (outside TS)?

Did you put the server into install mode before installing the

application?

Hello Vera: Yes, i receive the error during all logins: Logged in directly

to the console, also via RDP, also using an account with administrative right

or not. Yes, the application was installed from Add/Remove programs, which

should have put the TS in install mode.

 

on a new note - I turned DEP off and now i do not get the application error,

but only the application Splash Screen. I've contacted the vendor (SAGE, MIP

Accounting) to discuss. No resolution yet.

 

Any suggestions would be appreciated?

Since you also get the error when you try to run the application on

the console of the server, the problem has nothing to do with TS.

Isn't this commercial software, which entitles you to support? I

would push the vendor once more.

Alternatively, search their KnowledgeBase and forums.
