PC won't work

Hi, my mums computer doesn't work, she was using it for about an hour before it stopped, I opened it to have a look and found the CPU fan wasn't spinning so I assumed it burnt out or something.

I replaced the CPU but now everything else seems to have given up too, no light on the floppy drive, CD drive wouldn't open (but does after replacement) and nothing on screen. I tried replacing the PSU with a brand new one but it makes no difference, I have also re-seated everything twice.

When I switch it on the power light comes on, all the fans spin, the CD drive light flashes and I hear the hard drive spin but the HDD light doesn't flash.

Hi first off how about a clue to what we are dealing with, so can you tell us what spec the PC is or Manufacturer and Model would help

 

second does it post (Power on self test) should give one 'Beep' if all is well, if you get more than one 'Beep' or a repeting series of beeps can you tell us what they are. or even if it gets that far
