Guest Will Sellers Posted February 7, 2008 Posted February 7, 2008 We will be installing an exchange server for a small school, Does exchange server require additional manpower to support it?
Guest Saral6978 Posted February 7, 2008 Posted February 7, 2008 Re: Exchange server support You wouldn't need someone dedicated to just support the server, but someone should at least perform updates and maintenance on it on a regular basis and check the Event logs and monitor for any hardware issues on occassion and know how to troubleshoot it should an issue come up...I've worked for a company where we installed mostly SBS installs for small to mid-size companies who did not have an internal IT staff and just used us for maintenance a couple of times a month or if they were having problems. Is this the answer you are looking for? I guess I'm not entirely sure what you meant by additional manpower...It's definitely not hard to configure and get up and running. Have you ever installed or supported Exchange before? I'm guessing not, otherwise, you'd probably not ask this question, correct? > We will be installing an exchange server for a small school, Does > exchange server require additional manpower to support it? >

I guess I'm not entirely sure > what Yes this is the answer I need. We have network expertise but have not used exchange server. We have contracted with a company that will do the install of a completely new infrastructure so I guess that their maintenance service will suffice. > you meant by additional manpower...It's definitely not hard to configure > and get up and running.
