Guest Paul Posted February 7, 2008 Posted February 7, 2008 Hi, I have a Dell Precision 390 desktop machine which has a on-board Broadcom 57xx network card. I have created a boot image from my Windows Vista Business DVD and put it on the WDS server. I can boot to this fine and the network card drivers load and the network initializes as expected. However, when I then create a Capture image from the boot image and attempt to boot from this, the network card does not initialize. I have to press Shift-F10 and run 'wpeutil initializenetwork'. Then the card comes up fine and I can carry on. Has anyone seen this strange behaviour before? I have tried injecting various drivers into the boot image to no avail. No matter what I try the network card will not automatically initialize when booting from the capture image. I'm sure it's something to do with the Precision 390 but I don't know what. I have set up WDS in different test environment with different machines and everything works fine. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Paul
Guest Paul Posted February 7, 2008 Posted February 7, 2008 Re: WDS - no network initialization on capture image only I don't believe it. I managed to get it working. When booting from a 'capture' image, the network card doesn't initialize until the moment you click the 'Connect' button to connect to the WDS server. When loading from a 'boot' image the card initializes immediately. How strange!
