video card with digital TV for 98?

Hi everyone

Starting preparations for all analogue TV going off the air in one year.

Being I use 98 MOST of the time and watch most TV on the PC (old ATI

All-In-Wonder video card, has built-in TV), I'm wanting to find a video

card which has *digital* TV and drivers for Win98SE.

Anyone know of such a card?

TIA

Vic

Side question:

Are US cable operators compelled to also stop broadcasting the NTSC

CATV spectrum on their cable systems at the same time as the

terrestrial NTSC broadcasting comes to an end?

If US cable operators are free to maintain their NTSC CATV spectrum,

and if you currently subscribe to cable TV, then presumably you would

continue to be able to receive NTSC signals on your ATI card.

No, exactly the other way. They have to continue supplying analog

signals for five years or so.

I agree with that, the analog signal will still be available and OP

should have no problems using it. If he's using a cable system, of

course.

Even if he's not on Cable, there are - or will be at any rate -

converters available. And the federal government is subsidizing these

things for folks who are not on cable systems.

Not sure about that, but I don't have cable, just over the air TV

reception (as Fred Flintstone as that sounds)

Tim, as mentioned in a previous post, no cable here, just over the air

reception. I'm aware converter boxes should be available, but, still

hoping someone made (makes) a video card with digital TV and drivers for

Windows (I'm one of those who does not like much of this change <g>).

If anyone knows of a card, or even a good USB digital TV adapter (with

Win98 drivers) PLEASE let me know!

BTW, for those with built-in TV, I found a plugin for WinAMP some time

ago which allows you to play your TV through WinAMP (love it!). You

might enjoy it too.

98 Guy, I hadn't thought about an addon card for TV. Did some checking

on the MDP-130 and it has good reviews overall. Thanks for the links!
