Guest Meinolf Weber Posted February 7, 2008 Posted February 7, 2008 Re: Use server 2008 as Desktop OS Hello Tem, Why will you spend a lot of money for a Server operating system to use it as a Desktop? It is made for a lot of difference SERVER operations, NOT for browsing and writing or playing games. Or do you also buy a Lamborghini for Stockcar races? Guest kevpan815@nospam.hotmail.com Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 Re: Use server 2008 as Desktop OS Click On Start, Programs, Administrative Tools, Server Manager, Add Features, And Then Add A Check Mark To Desktop Experience, And Then Click On The Next Button (Warning: A Reboot Will Be Required, So Save All Your Work And Close Any Open Programs Before You Attempt To Install Desktop Experience), After The Reboot is Completed, The Installation Will Resume Where It Left Off, And You Should Receive A Installed Successfully Message. Now Open Up The Programs Menu (All Programs If You Are Using The Newer Start Menu), And You Will Notice That The Following Has Been Installed on Your Server Operating System That Is Not Included In The Default Install Package: Windows Mail 6.0.6001.18000, Windows Defender 1.0.1600, And Windows Media Player 11.0.6001.7000. Guest Sebastián Piñero Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 Re: Use server 2008 as Desktop OS Besides installing "Desktop experience". You must start "Themes" Services and configure by "automatic" start. After that you can change windows clasic theme for windows vista theme and usage windows 2008 with windows vista experience.
