MonkeyWorldUK Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 Hello, I recently installed Windows 7 on a laptop with XP previously. Everything is running fine apart from the graphics card, the Display Adaptor listed in Device Manager is "Standard VGA Graphics Adaptor." No nVidia drivers will install because my "hardware does not support them," it's like W7 isn't aware the GPU exists. I've ran Everest and it does show that the chip didn't run away: http://img193.imageshack.us/img193/4107/everestmb.jpg I'm grateful that something can find my GPU! Any advice would be greatly appreciated as this is my only computer, and Windows 7 is lovely! Relevant system information: Windows 7 - Home Premium - 32-bit nVidia 8600m gs w/ 512mb dedicated 2gb system RAM Edit: Some things actually work better now, such as the Realtek sound card. Quote
Jelly Bean Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 Hello and welcome to the forum. It appears the GPU is not compatible for Windows 7 to run,you need to upgrade the GPU.But hey not everything is as so. However I see Hengis is helping you on his forum. He may find you a solution you can try. Quote Rwy'n ceisio fy ngorau......................
