I am running Windows XP Pro SP3 and although nslookup and ping works normally, browsers cannot connect to internet. I have disabled the firewall and uninstalled all AV programs including Adware, Spybot S&D, Easy cleaner etc.

I have also updated the startup to ensure default windows are running and no other programs are loading, still no luck.

Please help, oh wise ones!!!

Hi Kamal;

Since pinging works you are connected to the internet.

What browser and version are you using? If it's Internet Explorer have you tried running it without add-ons?

Have you tried a different browser such as Firefox to determine if this is a browser issue?

If you've used a registry cleaner then it could be just about anything.

As Randy says this could be allot of things; especially important is trying a different browser to see if the probelm lies with IE.

A common cause I've found though is either malware or security programs corrupting the windows TCP/IP stack.

You could try the winsock fix to see if that is the problem:
