snow Posted October 27, 2009 Posted October 27, 2009 Hi dwane, This could be due to a few things, from what I've read. First, the installation media. If the DVD is scratched, damaged, or corrupted then this could happen. Is there another machine you can try the disk in? Bear in mind that simply booting from the disk isn't enough to check it: try copying it's contents onto a folder on your desktop. If it hangs or fails before it's finished then there may be a problem. Second, how manny hard disk drives do you have in the computer? If you have more than one, try disconnecting all except the one you wish to installl windows on, and try again. Third, disconnect any peripherals you have during the installation such as external hard drives. Quote Need help with your computer problems? Then why not join Free PC Help.
