Guest L Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 Win98SE currently runs USB can I add PCI card for usb 2 and use it at the same time (move usb2 devices to that interface). Strange question is Can two pc be interconnected via USB ports and maybe even have a hard drive on the same usb. Just wondering.

When you really want to do so, using 2 USB network adaptors in combination with a crosscable is more flexible. > and maybe even have a hard > drive on the same usb. No.

The two machines should be networked. If an external USB drive is connected to one machine... it can be shared on a network by the other machine

Win9x and XP/Win2k can all "talk" to each other The best thing to do is have all machines in the same workgroup and to allow file sharing

Strange question >is Can two pc be interconnected via USB ports and maybe even have a hard >drive on the same usb. Just wondering. I'm doing it right now. My USB 1.1 is built into the MOBO so I cant get rid of it. I installed a USB 2 card. Both of them work. I use the USB 1.1 for my camera card reader, which works plenty fast just to download the pictures to my harddrive. I use the USB 2 for external harddrives, ext. CD drives, and memory sticks. Those need the faster USB. I also have a small USB LED light for seeing behind the computer. USB 1.1 is fine for that, it only uses power from the PS.
