But in order to use a Microsoft Operating System you do need to have a valid license for the sofware. Operating systems that came before Windows XP did not have any type of activation process so piracy is more common with these versions of Windows. Basically if you have a legit Windows 95 cd and a product key, you may install it on your system as long as it is not installed on any other computer. There is no assisted support available from Microsoft, but there are resources available through the support.microsoft.com web site.
