alierobson Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 Having mega problems and need help please!!! I upgraded AVG from 8.5 to 9 and my system has been in meltdown ever since. After the upgrade I had problems and lots of DLL errors. Tried System Resore to before upgrade and have now totally lost AVG. AVG themselves emailed and suggested I re-download 8.5 but my PC refuses to do this at all. Simply won't accept any downloads from any website now! Help please somebody...:( Quote

Hi there, sorrry for the delay in responding to your message but i've been wary of going online without AVG protection! Tried what you suggested and there was no integrity violation on my system. It's really odd and I'm sure very simple to cure but as a novice PC person I need to be given baby steps to help me understand and my limited knowledge is now exhusted! Now, if I try to save a file or photo there is a warning saying that I have limited disc space, but I checked and I have over 90GB free... Quote

Hi again, Tried this and it will not download! It acts as if it will, counting up the percentages to 100% then ...nothing happens at all. This is really my main problem, as AVG could easily be re-downloaded but it simply goes through the motions and then nothing... I know that all these items that I have tried to download will be somewhere, but when located they refuse to run or even open. Any other suggestions? Someone suggested that I will need to strip my PC back to factory settings but this seems really extreme... Quote
Jelly Bean Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 You can download and save both AVG and CCleaner on another computer and transfer via a disk, floppy or USB pen drive to the problem computer. I rather think as you have had a lot of DLL errors your OS maybe corrupted. A system restore may help but you would loose files from today upto the system restore point you use. alierobson Posted November 3, 2009 Author Posted November 3, 2009 Ok, have used the Windows Clean up on the C and D Drives and nothing much happened. All still the same and nothing opening up or running. Will try to download cleanup you suggested from another PC tomorrow and then take it from there.... Thanks for you help so far, and i'll be back to update you tomorrow! Have a nice night in Swansea... Quote
