Hello everyone.

I have a couple of questions about the connection adapter for my graphics card.

I will be upgrading my graphiocs card to a NVIDIA GTX 280. It requires 2 power sources.

1x 6 pin PCI- E and 1 x 8 pin PCI-E cable. My Power supply has 1 x 6 pin PCI-E cable and I need to attach a 8 pin PCI-E converter to the molex connectors. The molex connectors need to be connected to 2 independent cables as shown in the picture below.

My problem is that I have 4 molex connectors on the PUS (2 on each cable).

My questions are:

1) can i use these molex connector which i circled in the photo as I am worried that it might interfere with the power voltage to the graphics card.

2) can I use molex splitters as i need more power connections.

Thank You in advance

Providing your power supply will provide at least 550 watts as this spec shows-

GeForce GTX 280

then yes is the answer as far as I know. The important thing is that the power supply (PSU) can deliver that wattage.

Hi, I do mean yes to the use of those connectors, however, although I know power supplies, I am no expert on graphics cards, so as far as I know it should be OK. However, if you want to wait for a better opinion from one of our other tech people who knows more on Graphics that is fine, and I recommend that you do.
