By making it switchable, or even removing it altogether. I remember reading somewhere (probably on here) about going into MSConfig but can't recall much after that.

 

Apologies if posted in wrong section, but this is slowing things down somewhat.

Hi, Click "Start" > Run, and type or copy and paste-

 

msconfig

 

click the "Startup" tab then scroll down to MsnMsgr, remove the tick. Click "Apply" then "OK".

Should do what you want.

Also open messenger and choose options.

 

Under sign in uncheck the box Automaticaly run windows live messenger when I logon to windows.Click apply.
