amylee27 Posted November 2, 2009 Posted November 2, 2009 right were do i start... i bought my packard bell off a friend of a friend and when i got it i turned it on and i was having problems frm the start...i finally got it on and it need loooads of updates it was taking hours and was up for work so i made the mistake of turning in off without installing them all..then from there it wouldnt boot up so i asked a friend to look and he said the master partition was corrupt (it kept skipin past it and wouldnt reboot) so to fix it i made the mistake of letting him delete it and install xp in place of the vista but then ive had prblems ever since!!! is there any way of restoring the deleted partition and maybe fixing what ever problem it was!! Im desperate here been trying to find a solution for bout a year now :D x Quote
The_monk Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 In a word NO Once its been deleted its gone, no going back i'm afraid. However there is no reason it cant be sorted, even if it is xp. But unless you have knowledge of computers/drivers and the installation of these things it might be difficult for you. My first advise would be ( and i'm assuming you can get online). Go to windows update Microsoft Update and follow the links, if after that your still having problems. come back and post some more, try to give as much info as possible. but do one problem at a time. good luck Quote
Jelly Bean Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 Yes if you have the Vista disk. Are you able to open disk management and see if there is a partition there listed as D drive or another? Quote Rwy'n ceisio fy ngorau......................
amylee27 Posted November 3, 2009 Author Posted November 3, 2009 i aint got the disk because i bought it off someone else and they dint give it to me...i had to put xp on because it was the only one available at the time for me to sort it, rather than me not have any OS on it :( and the xp what i have is not the geniune one so it dont have the features like restoring the comp to factory settings which i really want to do..im at a loss really! x Quote
maynardvdm Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 The only thing to do is to buy Windows and do a fresh install. I would recommend Windows 7. Quote We are all members helping other members. Jelly Bean Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 All I can think of wich possibly will not work is to boot into recovery console. Restart and press F8 and a list appears, choose repair my computer and see if it works. Other than trying the recovery console the only choice you then have is to buy a legal copy of Vista or XP.
