james898166 Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 (edited) Hi there, looking for a litle help please. Ok, so my Acer laptop is about 9yrs old so doesn't owe me anything but i'm trying to keep it going a little longer. 1/ It is now very slow to load and multi task, took it to a guy a couple of yrs ago who wiped it clean except saved files and a couple of programmes, how did he do this? 2/the fan makes a hell of a racket whenever its on?? 3/If i put it on a flat surface it soon over heats and cuts out??? 4/ have loads of pics to back up and get off the laptop which i guess will also speed it up? was going to put them on cd's but takes for ages, i want to be able to click a folder and burn it and for it to tell me when the cd is full and to insert another and it carries on until folder completed. is this possible???? Any help most welcome! PS. don't say buy a new laptop!lol Edited November 3, 2009 by james898166 Quote
maynardvdm Posted November 4, 2009 Posted November 4, 2009 Hi Buy a new laptop ;) 1. Instead off copying all your data to CD's, get an external hard drive and save it on there. 2. Try cleaning the fans, this should also help keep the lappy cooler and stop the noise. Quote We are all members helping other members. Please return here where you may be able to help someone else.
