Hi all.* I was wondering if any of you were unlucky enough to have had this problem, but lucky enough to find a way to fix it.*

First, a little background, I have VS05, SP1, VSTO, and Office 2003 successfully deployed on my laptop with XP sp2.* so.. I let curiosity get the better of me and built a fresh Vista machine (business standard), and started the long process of installing the development platform on the vista box - overcoming the hurdles of service packs and patches and updates, etc., etc.

The problem is that now that everything seems to be up and running fine, but the Windows Automatic Update service keeps trying to install the last update for VS05, even though it says in the history that it has installed successfully (I think its "kb932232").* I have tried turning off the UAC, downloading the file and installing manually with elevated priveleges ("run as..."), I even tried running it in safe mode with elevated priveleges and it wouldn't work since it needs the networking or access to the web or something.

I don't mind installing updates, but after 18 installs of the same thing (with some reboots, even though it's not asking for them), it's getting a little tedious.* Especially when it totally consumes all the available resources to do it.* I've tried scouring the web and bugging my co-workers, but to no avail.

you are my last hope, obi-wan
