Can someone please tell me what this mean and give me tips on how to resolve

it.

It is an event log writeup.

The kerberos client received a KRB_AP_ERR_MODIFIED error from the server

GBRPC6712$. The target name used was

cifs/NP0017A4CE8677.gbr.ad.fremantlemedia.net. This indicates that the

password used to encrypt the kerberos service ticket is different than that

on the target server. Commonly, this is due to identically named machine

accounts in the target realm (GBR.AD.FREMANTLEMEDIA.NET), and the client

realm. Please contact your system administrator.

Kind regards

Hello Ivor van der Merwe,

Would be really nice if you can post the COMPLETE entry from the event viewer

with the IMPORTANT Event ID and Source. And please do not multipost. If someone

here can help you, she/he will do, even if it take some time.

Best regards

Please accept my apology.

The kerberos client received a KRB_AP_ERR_MODIFIED error from the server

cifs/GBRPC8025.gbr.ad.fremantlemedia.net. This indicates that the password

used to encrypt the kerberos service ticket is different than that on the

RE: Can someone please tell me what this mean.

Hello Ivor van der Merwe,

Start here for beginning:

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/windowsserver2003/technologies/security/tkerberr.mspx#EXIAG

http://www.eventid.net/display.asp?eventid=4&eventno=1968&source=Kerberos&phase=1

Also would be nice to have more inofs about your setup, how many DC's, one

site or more etc. Did you change any major thing before this error? Adding

new machines or removing some? Did you have a server crash before?

Best regards
