jseibert5306 Posted November 6, 2009 Posted November 6, 2009 hi, i have a laptop that runs windows xp proffesionally and it has wireless internet. the internet has been working up to two days ago. i have tried it out on two different routers in two differnt locations it comes up to the same thing. The message that comes up after the diagnostics is: Windows cannot connect to the internet using HTTP,HTTPS, or FTP. this is probly caused by firewall setting on this computer. check the fire wall setting for the HTTP port (80),HTTPS port (443) and FTP port (21) You might need to contact your internet service provider (isp) or the manufacturer of your firewall software. i have windows firewall and a firewall that is part of ESET Smart security system and i have tried to turn both off, i have turned both to allow HTTp, and i have tried safe mode w/ networking. ANY help would be appreciated Quote
