Here is my situation

Domain Windows Server 2003 also is a file server

I am in process to migrate File Server FS1 to FS2.

All I have done sofar is to backup FS1 and restored everything on FS2.

So I have two file servers now. an original file server called FS1 and New

File Server called FS2.

FS2 is doing nothing or suppose to be doing nothing at this point as it's in

the first stage of migration.

So Now I have exact copy of FS1, I created the same shares on FS2.

Now I have two file server with the same shares on it. But they dont know

anything about each other. Users still have their mapped drive to FS1\SHARE

and they dont know anything aobut FS2. I did not remap any drives, no

mirroring or cluster between two. when I check users computer mapped drive,

Z: still points to \\FS1\SHARE and not to FS2\SHARE. But some users are

forwarded to FS2\SHARE and othe users connected to FS1 has no knowledge

about the changes made on FS2 or vice versa. I think I am in a mash. Did

anyone ever heard of this type of situation where Windows decides on it's

own to send users to both of the file servers.
