Limitation in Storage Report

Recommended Posts

Hi.

On our fileservers we have Windows Server 2003 R2 Enterprise Edition SP2. In

“File server resource manager” we would like to run a storage report. We are

interested in the report “Files by File Group” and more specific we have

selected the file group “Executable Files”. We have tested different report

formats but regardless of format the report are limited to the top 100 files.

The exact message is: “More than the maximum number of files per group

matched the report criteria. Only the top 100 files are shown in the

following file groups: Executable Files.”

We don’t won’t this limitation but can’t find where the settings are that

control this. Any ideas?

The report is scheduled to run at night and thus we have no performance

issues.

Thanks in advance

RE: Limitation in Storage Report

Hello,

Thank you for your post.

After some research, I find this limitation is by design and there is no

supported method to change this limitation. I could tell you that this is a

common request and one that is being looked at by our developers. Also, I

noticed that some engineers have already submitted design change requests

and I hope the behavior will be adjusted in our future version of products.

Thanks.
