stwoods Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 I have an ATI radeon x1950 hd graphics card , I sold it to my neighbor , worked great then out of no where two weeks later it would not recognize it . I have no clue what he did , but then I tried it in my tower and it was not picked up by my windows 7, I tried it in a separate tower I have downstairs , worked fine. Overall ? is ....1). Is my card going bad(it is only 1 year old and never pushed hard for graphics-other than guitar hero 3)? 2). Is it a matter of power as I only was capable of one molex connection as opposed to the two on the pci-e card? Any help would be appreciated as I would like to be able to use it soon/does anyone know if this will be good enough of a card for modern warfare 2? Thanks all and if I am mis posting this thread , just let me know this is the first time I have actually posted on a forum . Quote
RandyL Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 The only part of your thread I can comment on is that ATI does not officially support this card for Windows 7 although you can download legacy drivers for Vista from them that may or may not work on Windows 7. What are all of the system specs on all of the computers you tried it on? Nice quote by Jefferson by the way. Quote We are all members helping other members. maynardvdm Posted November 15, 2009 Posted November 15, 2009 Is it a matter of power as I only was capable of one molex connection as opposed to the two on the pci-e card There is normally two molex connectors going into a splitter and then to the graphics card. http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/hh257/maynardvdm/graphicspowersplitter.jpg Quote We are all members helping other members. Tootech Posted November 15, 2009 Posted November 15, 2009 Is it a matter of power as I only was capable of one molex connection as opposed to the two on the pci-e card? Is this true for all of the PC's you have tried the card in? Also, exactly which model is the card, inc manufacturer - I had one about a year ago and it only had one additional power connector. I've Googled the card and all the ones I have found have the one additional power connector, not two. Thanks. Quote
stwoods Posted November 15, 2009 Author Posted November 15, 2009 ati raedon x1950 pro (crossfire) 256mb , I do have the 6pin to dual molex connecter, I just have one free molex from psu. I have ran that for the longest time with the card. I know it worked on windows 7 , and it worked on vista and xp when I had them. It just wont recognize it in my pci-e 16, I checked a nvidia card in it a couple weeks ago and it was picked up by the win 7 update. So I know it is not the pci slot being dead, leaves me to conclude that the card may be dead and if so is there anyway to know? for sure? test? or that windows 7 just isn't correctly working with this ati card in question..... as of know I would prefer to install if possible in the powerspec pc stated in above posts...ty Quote
