Network password on Vista laptop?

Hi, earlier on, I updated my router's firmware, and since then my sister's laptop asks for a network password. That's where the problem lies, I don't know my password/phrase that was set for my router. All I would like to know is how to get this password/phrase back

Is it needed to access the wireless network?

 

Also, what is the make and model of your router, and was it supplied by your ISP, and if so, which one?
