Two Geeks just had this problem during the last Windows update - their Vistalaptops would not startup. System restore would not work nor wouldbooting in safe mode.

 

It would be interesting to hear from anyone else who's Vista was affected during a windows update

 

Doing a search on Google* - these anecdotes came up - so there must be many others.

 

Hopefully, Microsoft could be made aware of this disaster
