Guest Blue Sky Posted February 15, 2008 Posted February 15, 2008 Hello all. Here is the error detail that I am getting. What I did was originally install a Radeon 7000 with TV Out but elected to downgrade the video to an older regular Rage card. But now am getting this error below. The drivers which were originally installed was by the installation of Windows 2003 server. So there is nothing under Add/Remove Programs for ATI. I tried removing any registry entry involving WDM and Radeon 7000 but still get this error. If anyone can tell me how to disable this service which is not found under the list of services or also under msconfig would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Event Type: Error Event Source: Service Control Manager Event Category: None Event ID: 7000 Date: 2/14/2008 Time: 11:45:14 PM User: N/A Computer: XXXXXX Description: The ATI WDM Specialized MVD Codec (Microsoft) service failed to start due to the following error: The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it. For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

RE: ATI WDM Specialized MVD Codec (Microsoft) service failed to start. I would attempt a cleanup by delving into the registry, backup and delete one entry at a time in the following key - be careful!
