Bellx15 Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 You know the windows, or 'panes' it is divided up into? Well take the 'contacts' pane, for example. If there is a name in the list written in cyrillic, it appears as rubbish. Likewise with the subject line of an incoming email. How can I get Outlook Express to display cyrillic characters in such locations? Thanks. Sorry, I was referring to Outlook Express. Quote
RandyL Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 I'm not exactly sure what you want or if it's possible but I would think the first thing to check is if you have the proper fonts installed on your computer. Go to Fonts in Control Panel and look. Quote We are all members helping other members. Please return here where you may be able to help someone else. Bellx15 Posted November 21, 2009 Author Posted November 21, 2009 Thanks for the suggestion - I'll try that. The exact problem is that the list of contacts visible in the 'contacts' pane of Outlook Express does not show cyrillic names AS cyrillic names. Instead, it just turns them into unreadable symbols. I have a feeling it is a more general problem, not specific to OE. So I'll try the font list, but shouldn't Windows XP take care of that when I add a language? Quote
Plastic Nev Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 Hi, Windows can only do that if cyrillic scripts are in the fonts list. If not there on your computer, you may have to find a source to install it to your list. Nev. Quote Need help with your computer problems? Then why not join Free PC Help. Register here.
