Guest frogsteaks@yahoo.com Posted February 15, 2008 Posted February 15, 2008 On a CLEAN INSTALL of WInXP from a system that had been running woth no such error, I get the IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL error on BSOD with the following STOP. *** STOP 0x0000000A (0x00000010 0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0x8051AA5B) There is no 'new hardware', there are no 'new drivers'. Just a clean reinstall of XP on known good hardware. I have tried everything I know to get this running. Anyone have advice?

I was getting this all last week until I axed SP3 on 2 machines.

Are you absolutely SURE that you've loaded all the correct hardware drivers after that clean install??

I was getting this all last week until I axed SP3 on 2 machines. SP3? MS has not released SP3 to my knowledge. I am doing a CLEAN INSTALL off of an ORIGINAL XP Pro CD. No SPs at all involved.
Guest frogsteaks@yahoo.com Posted February 15, 2008 Posted February 15, 2008 Re: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL Anyone have additional feedback on this? Just to clarify here is the situation. I had an older Asus MB with a 3.4GHz pentium. For outside reasons I needed to upgrade my MB/CPU. Got a Core 2 Duo 2.66 CPU and an Intel DP35DP Motherboard along with a single sGB stick of RAM and a new PCIx video card.. Swapped out the old MB, CPU, RAM, video and all runs fine. Ran that for 3-4 weeks and eventually needed to do a clean install of XP with the new hardware. On reinstall, all goes well until the initial reboot during the install process. After XP goes into the GUI to complete the install, I get to the point where it is loading drivers and I get the error mentioned above. --- IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL *** STOP 0x0000000A (0x00000010 0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0x8051AA5B --- I have added NO new hardware or software. I am at a loss on how to get XP to perform a clean install. Any advice would be appreciated. Remember thsi is NOT an upgrade, its NOT adding new HW or SW. Thanks
Guest frogsteaks@yahoo.com Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 Re: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL I GOT THIS FIGURED OUT! I had to disable the "Core Multiplexing Technology" option in BIOS during install.

Guest Colin Barnhorst Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 Re: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL MS calls it an RC, not me. Anyway, I provided the link so you could try it out yourself in case that's something you would like to do. Guest rmund Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 Re: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL Yeah, have the same motherboard and similar chip. Disabling the "Core Multiplexing Technology" option in BIOS during install worked!! Thanks, I was going to start looking at running memory tests (yuck). BTW, were you able to turn it back on later? Or did you have to install SP2 first?

(even for install purpose only!). It took me 8hrs total before I reached out online and found this post after 2hrs browsing, trying few things. This worked. thank you!:p

This worked. thank you!:p Glad it worked out, but this is why it's a good idea to have a USB floppy drive available. They aren't expensive. HTH -pk
