Guest Pakeon Posted February 15, 2008 Posted February 15, 2008 Hi, I found this error message appears in system event log of a W2k3 standard edition server with sp2 installed every a couple of hours. The error description is: " The master browser has received a server announcement from the computer MMPMSPRDAPP01 that believes that it is the master browser for the domain on transport NetBT_Tcpip_{875CB7C8-E00E-. The master browser is stopping or an election is being forced. For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp. 0000: 00 00 00 00 03 00 4e 00 ......N. 0008: 00 00 00 00 43 1f 00 c0 ....C..À 0010: 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ........ 0018: 76 01 00 00 00 00 00 00 v....... 0020: 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ........ " I searched Internet and found there are many MRxSmb error but not exactly related to my case as the data code is different. Any idea to help? Thanks in advance. Pakeon

Guest Pakeon Posted February 26, 2008 Posted February 26, 2008 Re: MRxSmb event ID 8003 found in event log Hi, only MRxSmb(event id 8003) keeps showing up in event log. Also NetBT(event id 4321) shows up in log Intermittently. TIA. "Thee Chicago Wolf" wrote: > >Hi Chicago Wolf, > > > >The server is a member server with W2k3 sp2 installed. You already checked out some of the tips from this place on MRxSMB: http://www.eventid.net/display.asp?eventid=8003&eventno=680&source=mrxsmb&phase=1 And for NetBT event IDs: http://www.eventid.net/display.asp?eventid=4321&eventno=1822&source=NetBT&phase=1 Some stuff mentions the NIC driver. What NIC do you have and what version is the driver? - Thee Chicago Wolf

Guest Pakeon Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 Re: MRxSmb event ID 8003 found in event log Yes there is Linux box in the same segment but no connection between them. Guest Pakeon Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 Re: MRxSmb event ID 8003 found in event log It has two NICs and is running BASP((Broadcom Advanced Server Program) on that. One NIC is active, the other one is standby. It works fine for a long time. "Thee Chicago Wolf" wrote: > >Hi, only MRxSmb(event id 8003) keeps showing up in event log.
