win xp starting problem

hi

 

i tried to start up my computer today and got the following message and options

 

choose one below

 

safe mode

safe mode with networking

safe mode with command point

last known good configuration

start windows normaly

 

i have picked each of these options many times and each time the computer will take me back to this black screen.

 

im looking for some advice in how to resolve this please. it was working fine last night and was closed down correctly.

what was you doing before this happened.

has the pc had a bad shutdown (loss of power suddenly).

do you have an XP cd.

hi, you may have a virus.

Reboot your machine and continually tap the F8 key to enter safe mode.

 

Use the arrow keys to choose Safe mode with a Command prompt and press enter.

 

At the command prompt, type %systemroot%\system32\restore\rstrui.exe, and then press enter.

 

Follow the instructions to restore your computer to a date when everything was ok.

so safe mode is not an options....

 

do you have an XP cd so we can get into recovery console...
