JohnRoss Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 Been getting this message after switch-on, Vista system Home premium French version, or a reboot each day. Script../../../../ sscommon/common/inc/ss_container.js Failed to load With the heading Message de la page Web This started after I had to force the computer off by holding in the power button as I was in a hurry to go out and AVG had decided it would not let the box shut down for some reason. The only other obvious result of this improper shut down was the loss of saved on the PC emails. The machine in all other respects is working ok but I did try changing my anti-virus software, following a suggestion on another thread, to Microsoft Security Essentials which found a Trojan Win32/Skintrim.C which was deleted. So anyone know the significance of this message please?....................................JR PS Machine seems a lot faster since getting rid of AVG Quote
maynardvdm Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 Hi Please do the following so that our malware expert can have a look at the system: Please download the latest version of HijackThis from Trend Micro and save it to your desktop. Download HJTInstall.exe to your desktop. Doubleclick HJTInstall.exe to install HijackThis. By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis . Click on Install. It will create a HijackThis icon on the desktop. Once installed, it will launch Hijackthis. Click on the Do a system scan and save a logfile button. It will scan and the log should open in Notepad. Include this log in your next reply. Notes: Do not use the AnalyseThis button, its findings are dangerous if misinterpreted. Do not have Hijackthis fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless, or required for your computer to run like it should. Quote We are all members helping other members. JohnRoss Posted November 26, 2009 Author Posted November 26, 2009 Thanks for the reply. In fact I have found the fault was due to the Dell Support Centre sofware and I have deleted it and downloaded a more recent version from the Dell website and all is well now. Thanks again and I will keep your info in mind for the next problem when it comes!............JR PS The Dell sofware just seems to link to various sections of their website but I did notice that there were several updates available for this machine, Dell Ispiron 531, and I don't know if it would be worth downloading them as all is working ok just now.
