According to Reuters, Toshiba is getting ready to write off hundreds of millions of dollars to exit the HD-DVD business. As supporters fell by the wayside in quick succession, even the 'we will fight on' press statements from Tosh, were sounding less and less hopeful.

 

Does make you think though.

 

Sony builds a Blu-Ray drive inside the PS3 - that was pretty damn confident.

 

Microsoft edges their bets and keeps the HD-DVD drive outside the XBox360 - that was pretty damn sensible.

 

Any guesses as to when MS wil announce the Blu-Ray drive for the XBox that is no doubt waiting behind the curtain?
