Win XP wont load

Hi

My Pc was working fine until yesterday when I switched it on and it starts ok but when it reaches Windows XP it starts to load then stops and restarts pc. I have read a few threads on this prob but I do not have the Win XP CD. I cannot get into Safe mode either.

It is an Intel Pentium dual core. Nearly 3 years old.:(

can you tap f8 continously at startup to get to the boot options.

then choose "disable restart on system failure" i think thats the correct wording.

 

now reboot. this will stop your machine rebooting..hopefully you will then get an error code, something like 0x0000000???

post that error here we can then determine what the problem is.

 

can you obtain an XP cd from a friend (for recovery console purposes only).

ps, if you have a floppy drive you maybe able to download a boot disk.that way we can run some tests
