Re-installing Windows XP Pro OEM on new hard drive

I have a 3 year old computer that I built with a RAID 0 boot drive (dual

SATA). Last weekend one of the two drives failed. I managed to get it

functioning again and backed up all of my data (My Documents, Desktops) to an

IDE drive before the boot drive crashed again. I have two new drives on

order, which I am going to configure as a RAID 1 (mirrored).

I have read that I may get an error that the Registration Key may not work

on a second install (to prevent software piracy). Before I remove my old

drives and install the new ones, is there anything I should do first?

No, you shouldn't have any problems activating Windows on the new install.

You probably will be able to do it over the Internet but if for some reason

that fails, just call the phone number that will show up and tell them your

hard drive died.

It's no biggie. There's nothing you need to do first.
