"My Computer" Locks up

i have users like myself running windows xp pro on our 2000/2003 domain

experiencing issues with opening "My Computer" or Windows Explorer. at time

they seem to just lock up and we have to end the task before we can reopen

it. when we reopen they seem to work just fine.

 

does anyone have any idea what could be causing this issue?
